iGaming Glossary / Free Spins
What is Free Spins?
Slot spins given as a bonus or triggered inside a game. Bonus free spins usually carry wagering rules.
Free spins are slot spins you do not pay for. They come in two flavours: ones a casino hands out as a promotion, often with a welcome or reload offer, and ones a slot triggers inside its own bonus round, usually from scatter symbols.
Why it matters: free spins let you play and potentially win without spending your own money on those spins. Triggered free spins inside a game frequently add extras such as multipliers or expanding wilds, which is where the bigger wins tend to come.
The catch applies mainly to promotional free spins: any winnings usually carry a wagering requirement, plus caps on the maximum you can win or withdraw. Wager-free spins skip this. Always read the terms, and check our free spins page for current offers.
