iGaming Glossary / Underage Gambling

What is Underage Gambling?

Gambling by anyone below the legal age. Licensed casinos must verify age, and play is strictly 18+.

Underage gambling means anyone below the legal age placing bets at a casino or betting site. In most regulated markets that age is 18, and in some it is higher. It is against the law everywhere licensed gambling operates.

Licensed casinos are required to stop it. They run age and identity checks, known as KYC, before letting players deposit or withdraw, and they can ask for proof of age at any time. Sites that skip these checks are a warning sign you should avoid.

Parents can add extra protection with filtering software that blocks gambling sites on shared devices. If gambling is causing harm to anyone, support is available. See responsible gambling for tools and help.
