iGaming Glossary / Demo Play
What is Demo Play?
Playing a game with fake credits to learn it before betting real money. Also called fun mode or free play.
Demo play lets you try a casino game with pretend credits instead of real cash. The game behaves exactly as it would for money, with the same paytable, features and odds, but nothing you win or lose is real. It is also called fun mode or free play.
Why it matters: demo mode is the safest way to learn how a slot triggers its bonus round, or how a table game flows, without risking anything. It helps you decide whether a game suits your taste and budget before you commit.
The catch is that demo credits can build a false sense of how it feels to play for money, since there is no real loss to sting. Treat it as practice, not proof of how lucky you will be. Many slots in our reviews can be tried in demo first.
