iGaming Glossary / Minimum Deposit
What is Minimum Deposit?
The smallest amount a casino will accept to fund an account.
The minimum deposit is the smallest sum a casino will let you pay in to start playing. It is often set at around 10 or 20 units of currency, though some sites go lower. The figure can also change depending on which payment method you choose.
This number matters because many bonuses have their own minimum to qualify. You might be able to deposit 5, but if a welcome offer needs 20 to unlock, a small deposit will not trigger it. Always read the offer terms before paying in.
A low minimum deposit is handy for trying a casino without risking much, and it fits well with careful bankroll management. Pair it with a deposit limit to keep spending in check. Our bonuses guide covers how deposits link to offers.
