iGaming Glossary / Sportsbook
What is Sportsbook?
The sports-betting section of an iGaming brand.
A sportsbook is the sports-betting part of a gambling brand. It is where you place bets on football, tennis, racing, and other events rather than on slots or table games. Many online operators run a casino and a sportsbook side by side under one account and wallet.
Sportsbooks set odds on outcomes and let you bet before an event or while it is happening, known as in-play betting. The way odds and margins work differs from casino games, so the same bankroll habits do not always transfer cleanly.
If you use both sides of a brand, watch the bonus terms, since casino and sports promotions often have separate rules and game weighting. Treating them as two different products keeps your spending clearer.
