iGaming Glossary / Inside Bet

What is Inside Bet?

A roulette bet on specific numbers or small groups. It pays more but hits less often.

Inside bets are the roulette wagers placed on the numbered part of the table, on single numbers or small clusters of them. They include straight bets on one number, splits across two, and corners or streets that cover a few neighbours at once.

Because they cover fewer numbers, inside bets are harder to land but pay much more when they do. A single number pays 35 to 1, which is why players chasing a big hit lean on them.

They are the opposite of outside bets, which cover broad groups like red or black for smaller, more frequent wins. Many players mix both to balance risk. Learn the full table in our roulette guide.
