iGaming Glossary / Paytable

What is Paytable?

The screen that lists symbol values, features and rules for a game. Worth checking before you play.

The paytable is the information screen inside a slot or table game. It shows what each symbol is worth, how features like free spins or bonus rounds trigger, and any special rules you should know. On most slots you reach it through an info button near the spin controls.

Spending a minute here before you play is one of the easiest habits to build. It tells you the highest paying symbols, whether wilds or scatters behave in unusual ways, and often the game's RTP and volatility level.

Two games can look almost identical yet pay very differently, and the paytable is where those differences show. If a feature seems confusing in play, the paytable usually explains it in plain terms. You can read more about the percentage figures in our RTP guide.
