iGaming Glossary / Coin Value

What is Coin Value?

The per-line or per-bet stake setting on a slot, combined with bet level to set your total spin cost.

Coin value is the amount each coin or credit is worth on a slot. Most games let you pick a coin value and a bet level (the number of coins per line). Multiply the coin value by the bet level and the number of active paylines and you get your total cost per spin. It is the simplest lever you have for controlling how fast money moves.

Why it matters: two players on the same slot can bet very different amounts just by changing this setting. A low coin value stretches your session and lets you see more spins for your money, while a high one raises both your risk and your potential return.

Practical tip: always check the total bet shown on screen, not just the coin value. The catch is that some bonus features or jackpot tiers only unlock at higher bets, so read the rules in the slots guide before you settle on a stake.
